We live in a world where disasters can strike at any time. As case managers, we must be prepared for their impact. It is vital for case managers, facilities, and communities to realize what a case manager’s role is during and after a disaster. Erin will share her first-hand experience living through a fire that ravaged her hometown of Paradise, California and the valuable lessons she learned from experiencing that disaster through the eyes of a case manager. Leave with a better understanding of how you can get involved in disaster planning within your own communities and facilities.

    Erin Rhatigan has been a registered nurse for 35 years and as a registered nurse has worked in the acute care setting, the longer term care setting, the home health care setting and in the outpatient care setting as a staff nurse, as a manager, and as a case manager. Erin holds a Bachelors degree in nursing, she is a certified legal nurse consultant and a certified case manager. As a professional case manager Erin is part of a unique group of providers capable of keeping a health care system running smoothly and efficently in any conditions, and in ways that benefit patients, health care providers and the stake holders alike. She looks forward to working in, and/or being involved with professional case management for many years to come. Erin believes in the importance of professional case management to the functionality of any type of health care system now or in the future.
