Free Trade Agreements: How to Track Tariff Reductions & Quotas

The U.S. now has Free Trade Agreements, with 20 countries around the world, expanding export opportunities for U.S. food and agricultural producers. To help U.S. exporters obtain information about tariff reductions resulting from these FTAs, the Foreign Agricultural Service recently launched the Agricultural Tariff Tracker. The user friendly online tool allows agricultural exporters to search for product tariffs, tariff-rate quotas and information on safeguards, which countries use to protect against import surges. The new system simplifies the search for product tariffs so that exporters can make more informed decisions about the opportunities each FTA may have for their companies. Our featured presenter, Dennis Lynch, was involved in beta-testing this resource, and invites you to review such topics as:

  • An Overview of Free Trade Agreements
  • How the FTA Tariff Tracker Compliments the FTA Tariff Tool from the Department of Commerce
  • Examples of "Manual Tariff Analysis"
  • Introduction to the Agricultural Tariff Tracker
  • Specific Examples of Frequent Searches
  • Other FTA Resources
