MCTP 4 - Introduction to Transport & Forwarding


Once a household goods shipment is properly packed, loaded and containerized - it is ready for transport. This course covers the various modes of transport and how they are used for household goods transport.  Sections include:

  • Introduction to Transport & Forwarding
  • Truck Transport
  • Rail Transport
  • Sea Shipment
  • Air Shipment

This course is one part of the 6 part IAM Move Coordinator Training Program. Learners who successfully complete the 6 part program will receive a Certificate of Achievement for the IAM Move Coordinator Training Program. IAM Members may purchase each course for US$50 each or purchase the Program Bundle for a discounted US$250.

About the Course Instructor
Ray daSilva started his career in the moving industry as a military moving consultant in Anchorage, Alaska in 1978. Ray quickly advanced to sales, managerial and executive roles at some of the industry’s leading companies including 23 years at the Crown Worldwide Group.

His experience has included designing and implementing innovative learning and professional development programs.

He currently resides in Washington, DC where he is President of Mobility Exchange LLC, a strategic consulting and technology company focused on serving the moving, relocation and mobility services industries.
