    NEDRAC, Inc.

    Macarena Scalia is currently employed with Nedrac Inc. based out of Lake Forest, California. Nedrac is a family-owned company with offices located throughout various cities within the United States.

    Macarena has over 20 years in the industry. She joined her family’s business, at a young age, while working at Tumi International Movers which began back in 1989. As an integral part of her parents moving company, she learned all facets of the industry from move coordinator to general manager, tasks related to sales, surveys, rates, coordinating, and attending conferences just to name a few. Feeling the longing to implement her knowledge, she owned and managed her own moving company, Coco’s International Movers, Inc for over a decade. Her current role at Nedrac is as move coordinator within the Relocation and Mobility department.

    Macarena is associated as an active member of IAM in the Leadership Alliance Council as well as a past PAIMA and ARA associations Board of Directors.

    Macarena holds a BA (cum laude) in International Relations and Political Science from (FIU) Florida International University.

    She currently resides in Miami with her husband, Salvatore and their two children, Salvatore & Vittorio.

  • Walter M. Laffitte, CPA

    Canal Movers & Logistics Corp.

    Walter M. Laffitte is a Certified Public Accountant born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He studied at Mount Saint Mary´s University, Babson College and the Institute Touraine in France. He has a Master Degree (MBA), Summa Cum Laude, from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico.

    Mr. Laffitte worked as Senior Associate in the Certified Public Accountants firm, Coopers & Lybrand, now PriceWaterhouseCoopers, in San Juan, Puerto Rico from 1990-1994.

    In 1994 Mr. Laffitte was appointed by the Governor of Puerto Rico as the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Commercial Office in Panama for Central America and the Andean Countries until July 2001. In 1997 the United Retail Association of Puerto Rico, representative of the small and medium enterprises, awarded Mr. Laffitte “Public Servant of the Year”.

    In 2001 Mr. Laffitte became the youngest President of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Panama (AMCHAM). He served on the AMCHAM board for five years, which awarded him the 1998 “Member of the Year”.

    He is president, founder/owner and CEO of Canal Movers & Logistics Corp., Panama Furniture Rentals and LARM Panama Relocation Services.

    Mr. Laffitte has been in the Mobility industry for 23 years and he has been serving the industry at different associations at a board level position for the last 19 years.

    He has been president of the Latin American and Caribbean International Movers Association (LACMA) and president of FIDI Latin America, 2015-2017. He currently serves as a board member of Overseas Moving Network International (OMNI) and was president from 2021-2023.

    Married to Analisa Villalaz and has two children, Jean Paul and Anabelle Marie.
