Expert Panel on US Clearance & Import Issues

Description

IAM Industry Supplier Members that specialize in Customs Clearance and Inland Transport for US Imports will participate in this panel discussion on how to minimize risk and ensure service excellence.  We will leave room for questions and audience participation.  This session will be relevant for US members that engage in import shipments as well as overseas members that are exporting shipments to the US.

    Manel is the Global Movings Manager at iContainer Solutions SL, combining commercial management, sales, and customer orientation. iContainers is a leading freight forwarder in the logistics and international freight transportation sector, including international moves. Founded in 2007, they currently have offices in Barcelona, Miami, Santo Domingo, Dubai, and Chennai. In 2019, they joined the Agility group, one of the world's leading freight forwarders, leading to a merger with ShipaFreight.

    Transportation Services International, Inc.
    Rick is owner of Transportation Services International, Inc.  Based in Linden, NJ; TSI provides customs clearance, international shipping and trucking. They specialize in movement of Household Goods, Trade show items, and general commodities both thru NewYork and worldwide. TSI runs their own fleet of trucks to all of the Northeast.

    Gallagher Transport International
    Matthew Doryland is a Manager in the Household Goods Division of Gallagher Transport International, Inc., an FMC Bonded Ocean Freight Forwarder and US Customs Broker with over 30 years’ experience. Gallagher also provides logistics services including US Customs, ISF preparation, cargo insurance, freight forwarding, commercial import and export services, and title validation / vehicle shipments. Gallagher has six locations to serve IAM members - Denver, Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco, Portland, OR and St. Louis and clears shipments in all US ports.

    Don is owner of Carrie International Freight Services, an FMC licensed and bonded Ocean Freight Forwarder and U.S. Customs & Border Protection licensed Customs Broker. They are headquartered in the busy port city of Charleston, SC and serve clients located throughout the U.S. and in many countries around the world. 

  • Bryan Vickers

    Pace Companies, LLP
    Bryan assists Pace's clients shape and direct specific, business-focused agendas and policies at the federal, state and local levels. On behalf of IAM in the household goods moving space, he covers a range of domestic and international issues, from ports of entry to highway regulations and requirements. In his advocacy for IAM and other clients, Bryan routinely drafts comments for agency dockets, written testimony for US congressional and numerous state-based legislative committees, and on occasion provides in-person testimony.

    Prior to his government affairs work, he was a regional manager for sales with Southeastern Optical. Bryan is a graduate of Radford University.

  • Ray daSilva

    President, Mobility Exchange, LLC
    Ray daSilva started his career in the mobility services industry in 1978 as a moving consultant for Alaska Orient Van Service, a United Van Lines agent in Anchorage, Alaska. He has held positions in sales, management and executive roles based in Anchorage, Honolulu, Singapore, London, Florida and Washington, DC. During his 23 years with the Crown Worldwide Group, Ray served on its Executive Board where he contributed to the growth of its global network of offices.

    He played a key role in developing Crown University, a visionary staff training and management development program. Throughout his career, Ray has believed in the inherent power of facilitating connectivity and collaboration within a fragmented industry. This led him to contribute to the development of RedSky Mobility Solutions, an innovative cloud based international move management system. He currently serves as President of Mobility Exchange, LLC which develops and implements collaborative technology solutions for the mobility services industry in partnership with the IAM.
