Dr. Steven Lavrenz is an assistant professor with the Transportation Research Group at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He has extensive experience in traffic operations and non-motorized transportation safety and mobility, serving as author or co-author on more than 18 peer-reviewed journal publications. In addition to developing the RSP Level 1 Refresher Course, he regularly engages federal, state, and local professionals around the country on the subjects such as connected and automated vehicles, Complete Streets and context sensitive design, traffic incident management, and performance management. Dr. Lavrenz received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.
