Description

What’s Going on in There? The Social-Emotional Lives of Infants and Young Children with Julie Ribaudo, LMSW, IMH-E®

Newborns enter the world equipped to absorb what experience offers them. They also come to us with unique patterns of temperament, sensory systems, and regulatory capacities. How those individual differences coalesce into emotional regulation and social skills is influenced by the family and societal context. This workshop explores the unfolding of the newborn, unpacks the “black box” of emotional development, and highlights how caregivers can support infant and young child emotional development. It will lend attention to the unique skills that IECMH specialists use to promote parent-infant relationships and support young children's optimal emotional and social development.
