Description

Young supply chain professionals are challenged on many fronts. They have to deal with the often-condescending moniker, “millennials.” As a result, they tend to be misunderstood by more experienced supply chain professionals, despite arguably being in the best position to help their organizations and their procurement function navigate the digital landmine field. Are they tech-savvy or merely tech dependent?

This session will: (a) answer that question; (b) delineate the three distinct subsegments of the millennial generation; (c) advise how to bridge the generational talent gap; (d) challenge young and experienced professionals alike about how to best to engage and interact for the betterment of their organization; and (e) offer guidance for navigating the “talent rock.” If you’ve never heard of the “talent rock” this session is definitely for you!

Session Objectives:

  1. To describe three distinct subsegments of the millennial generation.
  2. To list steps organizations can take to bridge the generational talent gap.
  3. To explain ways to navigate the talent rock.
