Topics will include rules of thumb for locating joints in load bearing masonry walls versus those in veneer and non-load bearing walls. Material selection to control cracking and shrinkage cracking mitigation will be discussed. The session will include a 10 to 15 minute interactive exercise in improving example building plans and elevations to reduce cracking and enhance overall structural performance.
