Retaining Wall Basics

Description

Most structural engineers understand reinforced concrete and masonry retaining walls very well; however, there are many other types of retaining walls that can be used on a construction site. This webinar will provide insight into a variety of retaining wall types. We will also discuss commonly overlooked site issues related to the wall that must not be ignored as part of the retaining wall design.

    Bill Simpson, P.E., began practicing geotechnical structure design while still a student working on his BSCE and MSCE degrees at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He continues designing in this field to this day. Over the course of his career, he has worked on over 1,200 projects and 10 million square feet of earth structure each year. He works with owners, contractors and other engineers to provide designs that are not only structurally sufficient, but also financially responsible.
