05.02.2017 | Structural Steel and Bolting: Special Inspection with the IBC and AISC

The International Building Code references the AISC Specification and the AISC Seismic Provisions for special inspection. This change took place with the 2012 IBC, replacing the previous text and table. This webinar will look at the ties between the IBC requirements and the AISC requirements for structural steel and bolting inspection, including inspector qualifications, available and submitted documentation, specific inspection tasks for both the fabricator/erector and the special inspector, and waiver of special inspection. This webinar will also connect to RCSC Specification requirements.

The attendee will be provided:

  1. guidance for the specification of special inspection of structural steel and bolting in contract documents
  2. the essential practices for appropriate bolting inspection on the project
  3. guidance on potential misunderstandings between the application of the IBC and the AISC standards
Course will award 1.5 hours of continuing education
This course is Diamond Review approved in 49 states. New York does not accept hours from recordings.
