Description

Shotcrete has been used for over 100 years yet has had limited coverage in US-based codes. As shotcrete materials, equipment and placement techniques have significant improved over the years there have been many more structural applications using shotcrete placement. Though many structural engineers may have heard of shotcrete many may not be aware of the details of the placement process and the current state-of-the-art. This presentation will highlight current practice and delineate how shotcrete is addressed in ACI, ASTM, and IBC codes, specifications and standards.

Course will award 1.5 hours of continuing education
This course is Diamond Review approved in 49 states. New York does not accept hours from recordings.

Charles Hanskat, P.E., is a Fellow member of the American Concrete Institute, American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Florida Engineering Society. He is Executive Director and Technical Director for the American Shotcrete Association. Hanskat has been involved in the design, construction, evaluation, and repair of environmental concrete, marine, building and shotcrete structures throughout his career. Hanskat is active in developing codes and standards from many professional and technical engineering societies including ACI, ASTM, AREMA, and ICRI.
