Completed in 1977, Citicorp Center stands not only as a striking element of the Manhattan skyline, but also as a real-life example of design professional ethics in action. In this case study of the post-construction discovery and remedy of structural deficiencies in Citicorp Center's design, participants will explore the ethical choices made by the design professionals involved, with specific references to applicable Code(s) of Ethics. Emphasis will be given to ethical aspects of this case, including the design professional's duty to hold paramount the safety and welfare of the public.
