Learning Objectives
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
  1. discuss the administrative requirements for running a TRIK course
  2. describe the course outline for TRIK
  3. describe how the various components of the TRIK course should be implemented
  4. demonstrate how to run a trauma simulation
  5. demonstrate how to debrief a trauma simulation
Accreditation
This event is an Accredited Group Learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Royal College Continuing Professional Development Unit. You may claim a maximum of 3 hours (credits are automatically calculated).

Through an agreement between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert Royal College MOC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. TRIK is endorsed by the Pediatric Trauma Society, the Trauma Association of Canada and Accreditation Canada as an equivalent to ATLS (for Pediatric Trauma Centers). Prior training in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is strongly encouraged.

The CAEP Materials are the property of CAEP and are protected by copyright law. By taking this course, you agree to be bound by the present terms of use.

Provided the content of the CAEP Materials is not modified and all copyright and other proprietary notices are retained, you are granted a limited non-exclusive revocable licence to produce and display the materials for the sole purpose of delivering TRIK Course training and sessions sanctioned by the CAEP and in compliance with the norms and standards set from time to time by CAEP.
