Description

Masonry Inspection requirements can be traced back as far as the 1943 Uniform Building Code, but were not well defined until recently. Specification for Masonry Structures, TMS 602-16, not only contains tabled inspection requirements for three Quality Assurance Levels, but also introduces requirements for certified field testing technicians and laboratory testing technicians similar to the requirements contained in ACI 318.

This presentation will provide an insight on the new requirements for field and lab testing technicians, and the expected improvement in masonry quality control as a result of the new requirements. In addition a basic review of the essential aspects of masonry inspection will be presented along with insight on the reformatted Quality Assurance Tables.

John Chrysler, P.E.

John Chrysler, P.E., has been active in the masonry industry since 1968 working for a large masonry contractor for 25 years, then joining the Masonry Institute in 1993 where he currently serves as Executive Director. He has held contractors’ licenses in California Nevada and Hawaii and is a licensed P.E. in California and Arizona. Chrysler has served on the Board of Directors and also been President and of The Masonry Society and actively serves on TMS Committee 402/602 which is responsible for maintaining the masonry code. Chrysler is a frequent presenter of seminars and webinars on design, construction and quality of masonry. He has also been involved in the development or update of numerous masonry industry publications relating to engineering design and quality control.

Webinar Cancellation

By NCSEA: If a webinar is canceled by NCSEA, all registered attendees will be notified via email. NCSEA will issue a full refund if the event cannot be rescheduled. If the event is rescheduled and a registrant can not attend on the rescheduled date, NCSEA will offer a credit in the amount of the purchase price.

By Registrant/Attendee: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the webinar (or the first webinar in the case of a series or bundle) and in writing via email ( ncsea@ncsea.com) with the subject line "NCSEA Webinar Cancellation" and include the following in the body of the email: Title of Webinar, Order/Invoice Number, Name of Registrant, and Reason for Cancellation. No telephone refund requests will be accepted.

If the request has been approved, NCSEA can do one of the following:

Refund the amount back to the original order payment method (a $25 cancellation processing fee will be assessed)

Issue a full credit on the purchaser’s account that can be used towards a future webinar/event.

If you are unable to attend the webinar and the cancellation deadline has passed, a recording will be available (in most cases) in the Education Portal after the webinar has concluded.
Refunds are not granted due to attendee technology issues. It is your responsibility as the webinar attendee to test your computer setup prior to the start of the webinar.
