As professional fundraisers we spend a lot of time planning. Events, strategic plans, development plans, all get oour attention. Does your career planning get as much attention? This session looks at career planning. Just like successful major gifts, learn to make the right moves at the right time. This session will also include a review of CFRE and ACFRE credential process.

At the end of this session, participants will:

  • Learn tools and skills to develop their personal career strategic plan
  • Be able to develop a personal five year plan.


  • Vern Snyder

    Vern Snyder was appointed Vice President for Institutional Advancement at the University of Toledo on July 1, 2002. Prior to his appointment he served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Eastern Kentucky University, where he also served as President of the EKU Foundation and at Youngstown State University where his responsibilities included fundraising, inter-collegiate athletics, public relations and communications. As a professional fundraiser Vern has raised over $500 million. During his tenure at UT, the University has received over $160 million in contributions, including the largest single gift in the institution’s history, 351 endowments have been established and UT successfully concluded its largest capital campaign raising $106 million. Vern retired from the University of Toledo in 2015.
